New model FAS standard pistol on it's way....

Post by Leon »

Intrigued by another poster saying that they had seen new FAS 607s and 603s advertised for sale in an online Italian firerams catalogue, I emailed the factory querying the availability - and this is the response I received -

"Dear Leonard, both Models are no more longer available.

The new .22 it will be ready middle 2010.
Best regards

Raffaele MencarelliDOMINO SRL"

I was thinking of going from my Pardini SP New to a Morini CM22 but I might wait now to see what the new model looks like.

I heard they were working on a new model 2-3 years ago.
Lets hope they get it right and sell it in Australia.

Just checked my old emails, that was their response 5 years ago.
Still, I would like to see it.

Here in Italy Fas Standard and Center Fire pistol are no longer sold on dominoguns shop (mencarelli -> fas owner); only customer services and spare parts. Do you think they really have a new pistol?

Fas 603 is discontinued several months ago, and for standard pistol Bersaglio Mobile (one of the bigger seller in italy for sport firearm) report that Fas is financially in a bad situation.

This what they said in March -

"Dear Mr. Leonard,

the new standar pistol it could be available next year.

At this time we are so busy with the new air guns production.

Best regards

Busy with his Rolex collection, probably. I'd be VERY surprised if FAS brought any new models, especially in the current market.

What I can say - because I *know* it - is that the new FAS standard pistol (in 22l.r.) will be out in 2011. The firm FAS does not have problems of *any* kind (excepting that a member of the stuff has been hospitalized recently). The firm is on the market, and in the ranges, continuosly since 1972, as far as I can remember.

Heh! It might be strange that some glorious firms are dead, or almost dead, and FAS is still alive. But that's the weirdness (or craziness?) of the present situation. Saluti, s.
