Custom Competition Grips

Hey all,
Hope you can help. I have a Sig P220 Match Elite .45 and am looking for a set of competition grips in left hand. Any suggestions?

For what kind of competition? Certainly Sig P220 will not help you to win any bullseye matches.

I use this gun in the NRA centre fire and .45 match. It outshoots the model 52 S&W's by a mile. I have done hours of refinement work on the gun and shoot scores ranging from 450-505 in the 600 matches. The more I shoot it the better my scores.

Thanks for the info. I am left handed and Nills does not make a left hand grip for my gun. I do have a set on my GP100 and they are very nice.

I feel your pain. I am left handed also, and have pretty much abandoned anatomical grips for bullseye. It just makes things easier to go with the slab grips for consistencies sale, and it saves a lot of money.

I did find someone to make my grips. Randal Fung Grips will make them for me. I had to supply a set of stock wood grips and he will build a set up from there. I have 2 sets from him on my 2 Rugers. He does awesome work. They will be anatomical with an adjustable palm rest. Should see them in 6 weeks.

While it might sometimes be fun (for a master bullseye shooter) to see how far you can go with a stock gun, there are good reasons why this is not the best approach for a beginning shooter. They are eloquently articulated in this piece of advice:

To take nothing away from the grip makers to whom I have 2 one gallon zip lock bags full of their grips but, in the end I personally rather have good sharp checkering job on the front strap and mainspring housing of my guns. My hands swell now and then which make custom grips feel different. Checkering works in all conditions weather your sweating or it is cold.
