NRA smallbore coat ?

Post by Miguel1 »

I'm thinking about getting into NRA smallbore prone shooting this year and would like some recommendations as to what coats work best. I won't be shooting position, just prone and I won't be shooting internationally.

I realize that NRA coats cannot be used for ISSF events but can ISSF coats be used for NRA events ? Also what features should I look for in a prone coat ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I use my ISU (ISSF) coat for NRA and yes it's legal, ISSF is merely banning the use of buckles to close the coat ;)

Suggest you get an ISSF coat that fits you properly. Mine happens to be a Kurt Thune, but you'll see many different brands and types on the firing line. To me good fit is the most important factor, and I always go mid range in terms of price - as like you I'm not looking at shooting internationally.
