Director eye, shooting with the other eye ?

Post by Bruno Almeida »

Friends,

Some of you shoot with the eye that isnt the director ?

I am left handed, "for writing", but my director is the right, and for playing soccer i use the right foot to "kick the ball".

Seems that i have good coordination in both sides of my brain (??), for diferent moves, can it be considered as an advantage ? And what about shooting with the eye diferent than the director, does it really metter ?

Thank you,
Bruno Almeida.

My dominant eye is my left one, but being right handed I use my right eye to sight with.
Perhaps that is why I have a problem with the sight picture

I think it's fairly common; the current Olympic Prone champion shoots this way. It should work OK, providing the sight the non-dominant eye is good enough (or a correcting lens is worn. A blinder can be worn to prevent confusion.

I'm a weird one where my eye dominance will actually switch between the two, hence why I wear a blinder to cover my left eye. Also right handed guns tend to be a bit cheaper than lefty ones so if price is a problem there ya go. ;)
