Coaches at the AMU

Post by Trooperjake »

I had been told that some of the civilian coaches at the AMU in Benning would be replaced by Army coaches. I was led to believe it would happen between October and November.
Any one have any info on this?
I think it would be a shame to let these fine coaches go.

I don't know if that is true or not, but I know a bunch of DA Civilians
(paramedics / instructors)got pink slips and were replaced by military a few months ago, and with no warning.

Coach Ray (rapid fire AMU coach) told me at Nationals in June that his position was to be eliminated in Sept. or Oct. I have not talked to him in a couple months so I don't know what the current status of that is. He had enough time in to retire, so he'll be ok on that level, but he'd really prefer to continue as coach.
