Techniques for WSP and CF

Post by shadow »

What do most shooters use for CF and WSP - sub 6 for precision and center hold for duel or something else?

I use a sub six hold all the way through for WSP. I may change that and go to center hold for duel but I am probably going to have to add a taller sight post to my gun as it is quite easy to run out of adjustments on most sport pistols before you get your center hold down into the ten ring. The lowest adjustment I could make with my AW-93 put my shots at the top of the 8 ring when using a center hold. I am also worried about being able to see the sights well enough against the black to allow me to use a center hold. I fear that indoors, it may be a problem. I will probably have a new lens made for my shooting glasses before I decide if it is an issue or not. The nice thing about international is there is always a warm up. If you make a mistake, or need a sight adjustment, there is time to correct it before you shoot for record.

As opposed to my other events, I use a center hold for Centerfire.

I just don't like messing with my sights between Precision and Duel; that's a recipe for screwups.

I do OK that way.

I'm using sub-6 for precision, and "sub-5" for duel stage. Can't see anything with center hold, but right below the target works very well for me. 12-13 clicks difference.

When I was shooting CF I used a deep sub-6 for precision and centre(ish) for rapid.

Area aim for Precision (sub 6) and low 10 ring hold for rapid (white aiming lines visible just above rear sight)

I admit, lining up on the white lines is tempting.
What kind of a gun are you using, and how many clicks do you move your sights?
