1807 bolt reassembly

Post by melchloboo »

When I removed the end cap, I did not count how many turns I made...I just screwed it off.

When I go to reassemble, I any reason I don't just screw it back on until finger snug?

I did so and dry-fired on spent brass, everything seems fine. I'm just wondering if I'm supposed to back off a turn or two from finger tight...I don't have a manual and can't find one online.

On my 1807 bolt I screw the endcap all the way back on. So far everything seems to be working fine.

Screw the end cap down tight. After a few turns it will sound like a ratchet, as you meet the resistance of the springs. Keep going until it's tight.

You might want to put a thin smear of grease (I use molybdenum) on the thread before you start.
