I have happened upon a copy of a book by A.P. Danilov on gunsmithing sporting firearms (1968 edition): современное спортивное оружие и его отладка. Chapter 6 addresses modifications to the Margolin for rapid fire. Unfortunately, as the title suggests, it's all in Russian.
Has anyone had this Chapter translated and would be prepared to share that translation? I'd be happy to cough up a few dollars if necessary.

Thanks Rover, I've tried that route but there are 23 pages relating to the Margolin. Have you ever tried reading one of those computer translations? They get particularly gnarly when you have diagrams mixed in with the text and the diagram annotations are in a different font. I found I was spending a lot of time just formatting the input and then sorting out the text translation, not to mention the indecipherable words that got thrown up, so was hoping that someone out there might have done a proper job.
If not, I might see what I can do here in Oz and then post the product. I'm sure there are interested parties out there, but don't hold your breath!

Is there any chance you could scan the pages, place them on an image hosting service like Photobucket and post a link to them here? My club has about six Margolins as club guns and another 10 or so are owned by individual members so I'm sure there would be a few folk interested in this information (and willing to have a crack at the translation).

The file is not a PDF but a DjVu file which is far more compressed (3.3MB vs. 360MB). However, there is also a link below the book link which take you to the small piece of software (DJView Reader) you'll need to open the downloaded DjVu file. You can then save the opened book file as a PDF through DJView Reader's "Export As" function.
The book is a (relatively high quality) scanned image and so is not text searchable. There is commercial software out there that can convert the scanned image to a text file or PDF and from there you can use CAT (computer aided translation) tools to translate but, I warn you now, having tried it, that the resultant "translation" also requires translating! There are too many words which seem to defeat the OCR software and much of the rest is gibberish.
However, feel free to have a go and if you, or one of your club members, do get a readable translation of Chapter 6, I'd be delighted to get a copy.
BTW, Igor's Blog is a great site, full of lots of useful and interesting stuff.
