P700 velocity adjustment

Post by randy1952 »

Does anybody know if it is a simple procedure to adjust the velocity on a FWB P700 air rifle?

At a local rifle club they shoot 30 meter air rifle benchrest. They shoot outdoors in the summer and usually revalve their rifles to 850fps. A gent in the club does this and he knows his business. I wouldn't attempt it but their are techs who can do this. Ask Pilkguns if they could do it.

I just had the rifle rebuilt by Pilkguns and after getting it back the regulator or seal failed again, which means I had to send the rifle back twice already within the month. When I got the rifle back the velocity was set back so low that it is tearing the targets very badly. I know Scott can set the velocity, but if it is a simple procedure I rather I do it then send it back again. The shipping fees are starting to add up.

This is a topic no one wants to provide any information on. The best answer I have been given is it requires special tooling and is best left to experienced service technicians.
Aggravating to not be able to find useful information for what should be a simple adjustment for someone that is reasonably mechanically inclined.
The lack of information sounds like a job security issue to me.

I wouldn't make any asumptions. If I were to do this, I think I might have to go to Feinwerkbau school first, then get the special tooling to pull the job off right, than get advanced tips from the Techs. This is exactly the way my buddy learned to do a S@W action job on a revolver. The information isn't forthcoming because it is not easy to do and if you try anyways, the parts might be coming back to the Tech in a bag. BTW, the little amount published on the internet would make cringe to attempt this job
