I'd be pretty certain that no-one will have tested everything under all circumstances, and it will of course vary with the clothing composition (at least flexibility will). It is the shooters responsibility to ensure their clothing passes equipment control (at the place they're shooting) or face disqualification.

There are myths possibly true that clothing has failed post event due to hot conditions causing sweating and then the canvas drying stiffer.

I've actualy stiffened up our old club jackets by soaking the canvas and drying and it does make a noticeable improvement to old canvas.

hi guys.just to extend on the topic has anyone come across any of the major brands of shooting jackets that have failed compliance testing?

I think many pants or jackets will fail right out of the box .... from a variety of manufacturers.
I've had Gehmann, CC and KT that needed significant rolling and twisting of the fabric to comply, specifically with the stiffness. Thickness, not so much, but at the 2008 trials we had to rip out some interior canvas on a new jacket to comply.

I was told that the black panels are particularly stiff due to the dyes used .... whites the least stiff.

Until your new stuff passes, better to have your old stuff w/you as a backup.

Post match tests are done immediately after shooting before the shooter will have removed their clothing so I'd be surprised if it failed stiffness tests because of dry sweat.

As to the post about clothing, some brands are notoriously bad, but a) I can't remember which, and b) I couldnt mention them if I did because it's circumstantial information. My thune jacket failed before a bit of softening up, but it's fine on the thickness front, and has never since failed on stiffness. The only thing it does seem to do is shrink, or is it my 'physique' deteriorating ? ;)
