Russian Ammo

Post by cnjcomp »

While pulling a rifle for sale from my storage area , I came upon what remains of my Son's competition ammo. Case of Tennex, Case of R50, some RWS target, a case of Russian Temp, and most of a case of Olymp-R. The Olymp is super ammo, and I remember my Son shooting a 200-20x 50mm Metric prone with it @ Perry in 1992. Anyone have an idea of what its selling for now-a-days, and who is distributing it???

Expensive ammo

This dealer in Australia is selling Olimp-R for $42 AUD per box of 50.
I bet he's not shifting many.
Look in the Accessories page.

Russian Olymp-R

Post by cnjcomp »

Thats some price. His ammo is prior to 1992. All the Olymp-R ammo sold by Jack Foster of Accuracy International did not have the dimple in the base. My lots (originally had two casesof it) did not have them. My Son only used this ammo outdoors in the wind, or for 100m.

I bought some Olymp from Jack when it first became available in this country. It had the dimpled case head, and was about $80/ carton at the time. I also shot a lot of Temp, but I can't remember how much it was. $50-60/carton I am thinking. It was extremely accurate.
I don't think it is being imported anymore however. I still have a case of the Junior brass ammo that for the price was very accurate, however very greasy.
