Scott, just curious has this been a traditional Jan 1 900 match? ... or 1st of its kind to be held on Jan 1?

This is the first time. My idea - many think I'm nuts.

We hold the Lobster Match each August that attracts about 100 shooters. Also a monthly match during the warm months. I thought we should expand our repertoire.

To the IDPA crowd I say, "Real men shoot with one hand at great distances." Now I can add, "and in the winter."

It does sound like fun. Unless it were actually one of those -10 days, then I don't know............Wish I lived closer as well. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes.

Feel free. Personally, I wouldn't care to invite all the derisive laughter that the big-bore silhouette shooters would inevitably direct towards me if I said something like that.

It was a spectacular day for the Snowman 900

11 shooters - sunny and about 48 degrees. No wind. But no snow either.

Larry Carter called the line.

Gary Waselski 1st 824-17 (Expert)
Mike Stumbo 2nd 817-8 (Sharpshooter)
Me 3d 814-15 (Marksman)

At least for now, Gary is the top shooter in the country for 2012 and I am the best shooting Marksman. One woman showed up - Marcia MacDonald - so, she is the best woman shooter in the country, so far.

This will be an annual event.

I do wonder how many would have shown up if it were 10 degrees with 3 feet of snow.

Come on up next year!

Scott,
Any small airports nearby? I will try to fly in next year and bring some sight seeing friends if there are interesting things to do in the area.
1st flight of the year is a tradition here in PA.--if the weather cooperates!
