Sig Hamerli P240 .38

Post by bbh791 »

Greetings Everyone!

I need help on some info. To those of you who shoot one of these guns, what is the diameter of the re-sized bullet? I have alot of Hornady .358 HBWC that will need to be re-sized so I need to know what die to order. Also, what is the grip angle in degrees? Larry's guns is supposed to get back with me but that could be forever. Thanks to everyone.

The barrel of the 240 is known to be on the tight side. I had the best results with a home cast full base bullets sized to .312. Hollow based H&N's of .313 worked fine as well.
I'm must say that I'm not shooting the gun any longer, having switched to .32 Long.
Regards,
Guy

The P240 .38 barrel is actually 9mm diameter, so when you slug the barrel they are usually .355 or .356 .
Do not use unsized HBWC in these pistols, oversize bullets with skirt seperation was the major cause of buldged barrels in the P240.

So if my bullets are .358 I could buy a .355 sizing die and that would work? I would just run my bullets through one time?

.356 should be safe, if the skirt is fairly thick.

Berry's Bullets

Post by CowsEarShooter »

Realizing you probably have a bunch of HRN bullets already, you'll probably just want to resize them.

On the other hand, Berry's plated bullets come out at .3566 (10 bullet average) as well and have fairly thick skirts besides the copper plate.

Anyone use these in a 240 or a S&W 52? I've not heard much.
