IZH dry fire - charged or not

Post by toddinjax »

I'm aware of the silent dry fire mechanism on the 46m, but it just doesn't "feel" right, not the same trigger weight. Is it safe to charge it with air and fire without a pellet?

As part of working in oil once every tin of pellets or so, I routinely fire my 46m into a rag with no pellet, firing 10 to 15 shots until no more oil comes out the barrel. I've not dry fired for practice like this as frankly the noisier discharge bugs me. But the cleaning/oiling routine over the past 6 months doesn't seem to have caused any harm, the pistol works just as it did initially.

Im sure it wont do any harm , but seems a lot of wear and tear on the pistol for nothing
