I read or saw a show that said you fill your PCP air rifle the first time with a scuba tank then can pump it up with a hand pump after that to top it off after shooting each time. Is this practical? Is this how most target shooters do it? How many pumps do you need after shooting 50 or 100 rounds?
Thanks

I used a hand pump from new to 5 years old on my Anschutz 2002. I would pump up the cylinder after 100-120 rounds or so. I would usually pump for about 1 song on the radio. So about 3 minutes? It was pretty easy.
I since went to a SCBA 4500 psi tank, and that is a real dream. They cost about 600 bucks, but it should fill your rifle for the best part of a year. You can get them filled at fire halls, scuba places, and safety supply stores. I even bought a gas Bauer compressor so I really have it made.
