Fiocchi ST 2000?

Post by schauckis »

Hi,
I was attending a shooting competition (don't ask about the results! I did well as referee, though.) and run into an old shooting buddy. He had a Fiocchi ST 2000 pistol.

Any info on this pistol: shootability, reliabilty, other experiences?

According to my friend, it's essentially the predecessor of the current Morini CM22M pistol. It certainly looks the same!

How reliable have you find the Morini CM22M to be, BTW?

I have one. It has very few real similarities to the CM22, but the designer (Bruno Civolani of Benelli Armi) knows Renzo Bonora (who designed the CM22), and they certainly talked to each other. And the pistols came out at more or less the same time...

I never shot it for a longer period. Not due to problems, but the trigger is crap, recoil recovery is not as good as the design seems to promise, the factory grip is unusable and there are no spare parts, as the ST2000 was not built in larger volume. I don't think it's a path worth following, even with the more interesting features it has.
