Seeking input - Comprehensive list of 32 S&W Long option

Post by Brian James »

List,

I'm trying to compile a comprehensive list of 32 S&W long target pistols/revovlers. In Canada we are currently limited as to what we can import and we may have an opportunity to revise the list currently available to us which is why I'm seeking the help of targettalk members.

Please excuse the poor formatting below - the first list is what are are allowed to import, the second list is what I'm aware is a target 32, but currently not available in Canada.

Can anyone post anything I've missed.

Thanks!

Brian

Pardini, at least, is offering .32 ACP target guns instead of .32 Long.

Brian the GSP Expert in 32 is allowed as it's basically the same as the standard GSP with the recoil system added.

That's a pretty comprehensive list.

Wondering what gives you the idea that they might be open to updating the list? It would be nice.

.32 S&W

Post by mld »

If I remember correctly we used to shoot the S&W K32 as a center fire alternative to the .32 GSP for those of us who could not afford a Walther. I believe the K32 was added to the Prohibited list?

Sadly the k32 is not on the excluded list. I agree it should be on the list.

If you're going back to Noah's ark - I also have a Britarms in .32 ;-) And I've seen 1911 derivatives in .32 S&W, but no idea if that were production guns ofone kind or another.

List

Post by Nick Y »

Hi Brian,

I think the Hammerli P240 should be should be read as Sig-Hammerli P240. When I bought my P240 the CFO gave me a hard time because it is listed as a Hammerli not a Sig-Hammerli. They did suggest that the shooting federation of Canada revise the list.

Forgive my ignorance on Canadian gun law, but seeing as this list is for .32S&W long pistols, does that mean that the Toz 49 and 36 are not allowed because they are 7.62 cal?

No, .32 caliber pistols were banned by the actual calibre to "do away" with the "Saturday night specials". The only .32's that are allowed were sporting handguns that were specifically granted an exemption.

Put it this way our laws are so stupid that if someone actual marketed .32's by their metric equivalent and marked them with the metric calibre equivalent they would most likely have no issues.
