Lighweight target air pistol?
Help needed.
I am looking for a reasonable priced target air pistol. My main criteria is that it has to be lightweight. For some reason, I shoot much better with lighter weight pistols than heavier ones.
Any suggestions for makes and models to look for? I was thinking of a FWB 65, but is it a lot lighter than the FWB 80? I have shot the FWB 80, and it is too heavy for me even without the barrel weights.
Thanks in advance for any insights.

Well, I haven't found the weight of the 80, but the 65 is as follows:
1284g / 2lb 13 1/4oz
And if you glance through the weights posted on this page:
http://www.targetshooting.ca/firearm_db ... ?classid=5
You'll see that there are only 2 heavier ~ the IZH46M and the FAS 609.
So you have a LOT of pistols (from the last decade) to choose from that are lighter than the 65.

What about this one, they don't come much lighter.

You can check with USA Shooting as they are closing out their Air Arms Compressed Air Pistols for I think around $520. They are extremely light as they were developed for the junior shooting program.JK wrote:Help needed.

Re: Lighweight target air pistol?
Consider the FAS 604. It's priced well below the cost of the pre-charged match air pistols, and it is still in production. In the U.S., Airguns of Arizona has imported it for a few years, and now it's also sold and supported by Larry Carter.JK wrote:...I am looking for a reasonable priced target air pistol. FAS 604 Rebuild
FYI:
I just came across this well illustrated rebuild information for the FAS 604 which also shows the high quality of its construction.
