It's actually if you are buying from outside the European Union that VAT should be at a zero rate.keithwwalker wrote:That is right, if ordering from outside of the country, they should not include VAT.
Also, and I realise that this probably wouldn't apply to most people here, if you are buying as a VAT registered company from another EU country (and can supply your VAT registration number) then VAT should not be charged by the seller.

At the moment the UK is 17.5% but it is going up to 20% in January.
I believe that the French standard rate of VAT (TVA) is 19.6%, Finland is 23%, Denmark is 25%.
