Does RDS work?

Post by Tycho »

As far as I know, both Walther (SSP) and Tesro offer a muzzle-jump-reducing system with a swingarm/spring "buffer". I think Tesro calls it "RDS", don't know what the Walther name is. I think the two of them are pretty similar in construction.

Can anyone report on the difference the RDS makes on these pistols? Does it really work, or is the effect more a combination of pure weight and psychology?

A shooting buddy that has the active counterweight on his SSP thinks it helps in Rapid Fire. I haven't tried it myself.
