Has anyone on this forum done any real deep evaluation of the Gamo Compact. I shot one the other day and I was pretty impressed since Gamo has not been a "player" in the target AP field. I really liked the rear sight. No need for multiple blades for notches, And the trigger was neat as the blade angle and postion was pretty adjustable. It was VERY VERY light weight and the recoil matched my IZH 46 (none). My only negative from my 1 hour tryout was the "over-cock" method used to charge the SSP.
Might be a real easy AP to do some CTC testing in a ransome rest.

I have a Gamo compact pistol for more than five years now and
I' m pretty pleased with its performance.
The only downsides with this pistol is the trigger, (which i polished the sear and put a small dab of moly grease and its a hell lot better now...)
Also the grips are ok, just that the thumb section is somewhat small and the feeling is uncomfortable...
Is it a keeper? Yes it is. But, I'll prefer the IZZY...

I agree with all of the above: I have had one of these for many years.
Hardly ever shoot it any more. Seems you've got an Izzy; only reason for not using this may be the weight. But a good shooter can achieve pretty high scores with the Gamo too.
The Gamo Compact velocity is a bit low. Another cheap alternative may be the HW40; I feel the Gamo is a little overpriced considering all the plastic.
