Air Pistol Target History

Post by David Levene »

On another thread a poster mentioned that the air pistol target had not changed since the 1970s.

I know that there was a change in 1989 but cannot remember what it was, although I think it was a small ring size reduction.

Can anyone remember the details?

Yes, in the 1989 all targets except Nr4 (50m free pistol, 25m sp/stp/cfp) were changed.

I would love to have that .5 mm back! The frequency of .9's I shoot is incredible!!! I guess I will have to work harder. Regards, Dwaine.

The difference in diameter of the notional decimal "rings" on an AP target is 1.6mm, so you wouldn't get all of your .9s promoted. (A few would be nice though)
