What is the effect of small front sight?

Steyr sells 5.0, 4.5, 4.0, 3.5, 3.0, and 2.5 front sight.

Has any one use a 2.5 front sight?

What will be the effect of using this small front sight?

If you can see it well, benefit outweight the risk?

Need to look more at the perceived spacing of white borders than sight width alone. Long arms show narrower sights than short.

Too narrow a rear slot strains your eyes. Play with it and see what you like; make big changes in practice. No risk. I think I have white side bars at 1/2 of perceived front sight width for precision shooting.

Much wider on rapid fire

Sometimes a small front sight can make you concentrate on it harder, and a small error in alignment can actually seem bigger.
