Fitting a Pistol Grip

When i go to competitions I notice most of the best shooters have added a material to their pistol grips to fit it better to their hand. Any suggestions on what materials can be used to do this?

Ace Hardware has a 2 part epoxy putty.
Cures fast and does not have the smell of plastic wood.

Some use bondo (body filler compound), there is the compound sold by Morini. Just make sure you clean your hand oils off the grip to makes sure it sticks (a little alchol and sandpaper works). Remember removing material is just as important to getting a good fit,
