need source of Bushnell spotting scope replacement prisms

Post by PaulB »

I have a large number of old Bushnell Spacemaster and Sentry II spotting scopes. Over the years some of these have been dropped, causing the prisms to be chipped or shattered. The chipped prisms still "work" for the most part, they just reduce the light transmission. Bushnell does not have these prisms nor do they suggest any aftermarket source. Does anyone know where such prisms might be obtained? I believe that these are called Porro prisms. I have found sources for Porro prisms, just not the right sizes for my scopes.

I have purchased repair parts for binoculars and a M49 spotting telescope from http://www.surplusshed.com/
Even if you don't see it on the their website, I suggest you call. They are very reasonable and knowledgeable. Perhaps they can help.
