I had written to steyr in Austrai about my interest in buying an lp 10. So they sent me an invoice with an offer for one at 1080 Euro, this also included the postage. I just had to make the payment before the 18th of December. To cut a long story short due to mess ups by the banks etc. My payment wasn't wired before the 20th.
Their letter had stated two weeks for delivery and only orders received before the 24th would be sent. But I was wrong. They need two working weeks and from the 24th they are shut till the 10th or so of Jan. Now it will be sent by the end of Jan, after which I have our great customs to deal with.
At times I wonder if I was still better off with my ole IZH 46M, one week to deliver after paying mac1 by credit card. It is amazing what a nightmare wiring money can be in my country.

I am on there mailinglist and i received an email that they are closed:
Be patient, they are people to. The compairation with the IZH46 is a joke, right? its comparing a Ferrari with a Volkswagen.
Maybe because the company is closed is the explanation for the delay. Our company is closed from December 24th 2009 up to January 11th 2010. We are available for our customers and distributors from January 12th 2010.

long wait
Yes it is a sick joke, I know they are people too but it is just that when you buy a ferrari, to wait is difficult. :-)Naimed1983 wrote:I am on there mailinglist and i received an email that they are closed:

There is a small difference between Steyr and big mall. In mall you could buy anything and immediately.
Steyr haven't free products in stock. Each assembled pistol or rifle already sold.
*Bill
*Payment reaches account
*Serial number will be reserved
*Product will be assembled
*Delivery
And no one knows how much such opened orders there are now...
Don't forget that Steyr does assembly only. If subpartner have holidays or troubles with delivery and Steyr haven't parts in time... hm... but it is not your headache.

loong wait
While I agree that excellence can make certain demands I can also argue from the other side of the debate. Unless you are rich (I am not) every Euro is hard earned and if one is investing a thousand or so one deserves prompt attention. You are right Steyr's vendor problems are not my concern, I am also losing precious practice time in the bargain.
My argument seems useless but I just had to vent a little.

Re: loong wait
With the few details you have given us it seem the main problem was that you didn't pay by the deadline Steyr gave you. We must presume that they gave the deadline for a reason. Of course you deserve prompt attention, but you have to live up to your side of the deal.1008mod wrote:Unless you are rich (I am not) every Euro is hard earned and if one is investing a thousand or so one deserves prompt attention.
It might not have been your fault, but it sure as heck wasn't Steyr's.
Blame the people who caused the late payment.
