Morini FWB conversion
Has anyone used this conversion? how reliable is it? we do have a large number of FWB C20 at our club and it come as an idea of upgrading them
Re: Morini FWB conversion
We have also FWB C25 as club pistols and had the same idea. The problem is that this conversion is very expensive (480Euros when I enquired about 1 year ago) and must ne mounted by a gunsmith what increases the costs. Therefore we dropped the idea.ghostrip wrote:Has anyone used this conversion? how reliable is it? we do have a large number of FWB C20 at our club and it come as an idea of upgrading them
If your motivation to convert your pistols is that your CO2 cylinders are too old and expired, note that, since the new rule about cylinders expiration, FWB sells again new cylinders for the C20 and C25: http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/963
You mean converting from co2 to air? I wouldnt know why. CO2 is just as accurate. They shot scores with those co2's that 99% of us can NEVER match or even get close to..So why wouldnt the co2's be good enough for those 99%?
I always dislike it when people regard CO2 as inferior..It isnt. In normal temperatures where people feel ok in, a co2 matchpistol feels ok in too. Only extreme temperatures can affect those matchco2's. But than the shooter is affected just as much. I read a test, they heated and cooled a FWB CO2 pistol. Clamped in, that caused a 'terrible' half a mm POI shift.
Terrible..Disastrous..;) Only real downside of co2 is balanceshift. Besides that, I only see the advantages. CO2 stays stable in pressure as long as there's a tiny bit of liquid left. Airpressure lowers with each shot..Also no worries about filling too quickly with co2.
The 2001 worldrecord was shot with a FWB co2 iirc, while there already were several pcp's around. Says enough imo.
Keep them on co2, its not worth the money.
My best score so far, I shot with co2. And not with my 2 pcp's.

RE: FWB Morini conversion
I actually tried this conversion kit but it keep leaking air and I did not feel that the design around the vavle was all that sound. On top of that it was really heavy. I am still thinking about converting my C-25 mini to a P-30, but I have not heard of anyone trying to do that before. The reason to switch to Air from Co2 is that many matches I have been to lately do not have a Co2 tank on hand but do have a Scuba tank on hand for refills. If you have to travel by air this is a big deal. If a tank is not available for Air you can always use a hand pump. The same is not true for Co2.
Just my 2 Cents on the issue.
