How much prize money for ISSF 1st, 2nd, 3rd?

Post by Seamaster »

I did not know you get paid for winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in ISSF world cup.

I was looking at the presentation video, they were handed trophies and checks, with the theme song from "Magnificent Seven" playing in the background.

How much money were handed over?

I think he might be referring to the big checks being held in these pictures. http://www.issf.tv/photoplayer.aspx?gallerykey=990-6192 At least thats what they look like. Seems like they get 120000, 80000, and 50000 of whatever currency is written on those "checks" for 1st 2nd and 3rd.

It looks like first place is worth 120,000 something. 2nd place 80,000 something and 3rd place 50,000 something.

If it's Chinese Yuan, then;

1st : 120,000 Yuan = $17,574.72 US Dollars.
2nd: 80,000 Yuan = $11,200 US Dollars.
3rd: 50,000 Yuan = $7,000 US Dollars.

If that's correct, it's not quite like the big checks Tiger Woods holds for winning golf tourney's ;-)

After a little more study, is it possible the CHF (seen in the photos) would really be the Swiss Franc?

If so, that conversion is just a few pennyies less than 1:1 ratio Swiss Franc to US Dollar (currently around $.98 per Swiss Franc). THAT wouldn't be a bad way to make a little money --if you could place in 2 or 3 of those per year.

Ahhhh... And there is punctuation in there? So 120000 is actually only 1200? If that's the case, first place doesn't even pay for a plane ticket to bring your significant other along for the trip!
