Thanks everyone for your input and thoughts. This has been quite the eye-opener! I suppose that misery does love company, but I really appreciate hearing everyone's comments.
Last night, after carrying my case to and from another gig, my elbow actually felt pretty good. Taking some comments to heart I also did some heavy thinking about this.
I shot an Izzy with stock grip for about 7 months, no issues. I then shot a Steyr LP10 with stock Morini grip for 2 months, no issues. I got my custom fit Rink grip and here I am 3 months later, hurting pretty bad. What's the most significant different? The rake (angle) of the Rink grip is much more aggressive. I can feel it pull on those muscles on the top of my arm, in front of my elbow.
The comments regarding the steep angle of these grips helped me put this all together... so last night, feeling good about my elbow and curious about the grip angle, I adjusted a _LOT_ of the rake out of the grip. It feels more like the standard Morini grip.
I stretched my arm a bit, and did some test lifts... it was comfortable. I did some dry-fire for about 5 minutes... it also felt good. With that, I loaded up the shaker box and took 5 shots, with about 5 aborts mixed in with the shots. Not bad!
I ended the session feeling pretty good. The elbow wasn't stiff like it was --before it got really bad. I'll take it easy and do a similar session tonight, to get a better sense of the situation.
