A question from Israel
Hello,
I'm a free pistol shooter from Israel and I'm searching for a good 0.22 ammunition made in America (north or south). Can someone recommend such ammunition that he use and it's good for him?
Thanks.

Why America? If you want .22lr ammo for ISSF Free Pistol you can't go far wrong with Eley from the UK, RWS (German), or Lapua, which is Finnish.
The European brands are by far and away the most common brands used in Free Pistol competitions, even in America.
Have a look at:
Eley "Match Pistol"
Eley "Tenex Pistol"
Lapua .22lr "Pistol King"
RWS "R50"
RWS "Special Match"

Ammo from USA
I can recommend US made CCI standard velocity ammo that works well in many semi-autos, and in single shot free pistols.
Re: Ammo from USA
You must be carefull with these ammo and most US made .22lr ammo in European free pistols: most US made .22lr ammo (including the CCI standard) are sligthly bigger in diameter than European .22lr ammo.Popeye wrote:I can recommend US made CCI standard velocity ammo that works well in many semi-autos, and in single shot free pistols.
European pistols are usually made to chamber European .22lr ammo.
-> US .22lr ammo are very tight in several European free pistols (and also European standard match pistols, BTW, are there non European free and sport match pistols ?) -> difficult to load and extract.
Personal experience shows that it is the case for CCI standard in both Hammerli and Morini pistols. But nevertheless, even if they are tight, they work in the Morini CM22M RF.

Strange enough, even if the CCI standard are very tight in its chamber, the Morini CM22M RF also loves the CCI standard !?Tycho wrote:My MG2 loves CCI Standard Velocity, although the overall length (jipe is right) makes the mag look a bit tight (but it works).
The problem is more for the Hammerli 160: its extractor only extract the fired case for about 4mm and the CCI standard fired case remains stucked in the chamber, you have to extract it with your nail, quite boring to do for each shot !
