I had an elbow problem from shooting, it was not tennis elbow...there is another kind of elbow problem that happens on the opposite side.
For me what cured it was an all-around program to build the muscles of the hand, wrist, and arms. Especially take care with balance. I use progressively stronger grippers:

But always follow with finger extension exercises with rubber bands. My shooting, especially bullseye .45, improved dramatically. I am sure as my hands grow stronger my naturally "firm" grip on the pistol is getting tighter. My scores are showing it and my elbow never bothers me anymore.
I also love this thing:

Its a deceptively good workout.
And I will say that having a strong grip is much more useful in life than I imagined...no problem opening jars, handshakes, etc.
How's YOUR elbow, sore?
