.32 barrel and twist rate
I just recently acquired a Benelli from a Bullseye-L member. Whatta sweet pistol. I plan to eventually shoot it in bullseye CF competition both indoor and out so need accuarcy at the long line.
I'm told the secret is to get Dave Wilson to install a custom barrel which has a different rate of twist. This will stabilize the projectiles past the 50yd long line.
My questions. The stock vs. new Dave wilson twist rate. Anyone know the difference? What about bore diameter. I've had one exchange of e-mails with Dave. Price is fair but out of reach until I pay off all my post Camp Perry credit cards.
I understand he uses Shilen stainless steel barrel blanks. Anyone have knowledge of his .32 SWL barrels? What twist rate? What is the bore diameter? What type of bullets does it require to shoot well at 50yd?
Thanks for the help

Wilson Barrel
Dan-I got a Wilson bbl for my Pardini HP. With Speer or Lapua slugs there is no problem at 50 ysrds. The twist is 10 inches. Groups of less than 1.5 inches are not uncommon.Even DEWC shoot pretty good.
32 Twist and BBL size
I believe Earnie's barrel size is 3083 or 4 but you might ask him to be sure. Good Shooting Bill Horton

Bullet Diameters
Greetings,
Doc Young used to shoot H&N 100 grain bullets sized 0.312" in his ERMA.
I use Speer, which measure 0.313"-0.314", in all my barrels ranging from 0.308"-0.314" groove diameter.
There is about 30 FPS increase in velocity going from a 0.314" to 0.308" groove diameter barrel.
Doc also had a great supply of Lapua Commercial ammo that he shot in his 0.308" barrels with no problems. Lapua commercial is 0.313" to 0.314" bullet diameter.
Cheers,
Dave Wilson
