Question on Position of Adjustable Palm Shelf on AP Grip?

Post by joe1347 »

Is there a conventional wisdom on where to set the adjustable Palm Shelf on an Air Pistol Target Grip? Or more specifically, should the palm of your shooting hand only gently press up against the palm shelf - or should it be a fairly tight fit to the degree where your hand 'feels' locked in? Or something in between?

It should be reasonably tight so it holds your hand in position. If you think about it, it's there for additional support so needs to be fairly tight to achieve that. If you get it too tight however it starts to push your hand (palm) away from the grip itself, which you don't want.

I recently tightened this up a bit. See my post in the recent thread on "how to grip" for details and my reasoning behind this.
