different steyr CO2 cilinders

Post by yana »

I noticed, mine has a steel, shorter, cilinder.
Whats yr opinion about the aluminium and the normal length cilinders balance-wise?
Better? Worse?
I know about the 'out of date'thing here, but we dont have any laws for that. Also I know some NEW cilinders. Cánt be anything wrong with these yet..

It is impossible to say whether they are better or worse, they are just different. Use whichever ones suit you best, everybody is different.

The weight of the aluminium CO2 cylinder is lower than the steel CO2 cylinders.

But anyway, as far s I know, Steyr doesn't make/sell CO2 pistol cylinders anymore.

To provide replacement for the expired CO2 cylinders, Steyr has now an air conversion kit with one PCP cylinder+pistol conversion+fill adapter for about 200Euros (what is not that much knowing that the price of the cylinder alone is about 110Euros).

For information, since the introduction of the new rule about cylinder expiration date, other brands, FWB for instance, are again making/selling new CO2 cylinders what is a quite good news since PCP conversion for old FWB CO2 pistols is very expensive.

I know they dont make ém anymore. But I have an address who has a few new still in stock.
Didnt anyone change their cilinders from steel to alu or viceversa?
I know they're lighter, about half the weight. I'm, just curious what yr experiences are with that, balance wise.

By the way, how can you tell the LP5's magazines are worn?
