After years from bullseye, I have decided to try again. Is a scope mount that replaces the grip legal with a red-dot in competition? What about a 1911 pistol?
Thanks

The short answer to your question is yes. The red dot and a scope mount is legal. There have been a few recent rule changes as far as length of the sight radius for iron sights etc so your best bet would be to go to the NRA web site and print off a copy of the conventional pistol rules. You also might want to take a look at the CMP rules for ball matches if you are going to shoot some LEG matches. Your 1911 is legal for bullseye as long as all the safety's work amoung other things.
