Now that we are shooting the USA-50 targets, how is the NRA going to score them. What i mean is, will they score them the same as college outward or the way the NRA scores them inward. There seems to be some confusion there. Any answers out there with having to chase answers down in books. Thanks in advance.
I have scored a lot of USA-50 targets and the only way to do it accurately is with outward scoring. Using inward scoring you can't tell if the dot is wiped out or not.
What about out farther? i.e. a bullet hole can touch the 6, 7 and 8 ring. Would that be a 7 or a 8. On a ten international rules state you have to take out dot. Others tell me that shot must be inside 8 ring for a ten since there is not any centers. The dot is only for looks. Why are there no centers? How would you break ties? Thanks.
Everything is scored with the outward plug except the 3, 4, and maybe 5 rings which use the inward plug. The rules allow for the use of the inner plug for everything, but it implies that one should use the outer plug if it is available.
