High standard Victor slide lock issue

Post by little_doodie »

I have and older HS Victor from about 72-73 that I have had about 2 months.
It shoots very well and I love it.
When I bought it the Slide lock lever was missing.(I knew it was missing)
I went to Brownells and ordered the Gold slide lock lever and the little spring that goes with it.(since the trigger was gold)
When I recieved it needless to say it looked like it was modified on the back side because the gold was machined off.
It also did not lock the slide.
I was able to trim some material off the top side of the lever to make it work but its made of aluminum and it didn't work for long.
the slide seems to beat it up.
I noticed there was a case hardeded model also avalble but I did not want to drop amother 25$ for something I would need to custom fit.
any thoughts?

The Houston made slide stop pieces are not like the original parts. I too tried to fit a houston slide stop to an original HS. It did not work even after much careful tweaking. I gave up on it and found an original part. Even it needed a tiny bit of fitting. The Houston part became trash.
