Could anyone recommend a timer?

Post by John Kasaian »

Since the range where I train dosen't have turning targets, I was thinking of getting a timer of some sort which would audibly start after a programmable delay and then audibly signal when the time is up. It would (I hope) be more precise and less distracting than counting to myself "one thousand one, one thousand two..."

Does this make sense? Is there anything like that on the market?

as an alternative, a cheap MP3 player and the MP3 files for 25m events I have posted at http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/nrc_pa/resources.htm - all but RF stage of 'sport'.

David Higgins has posted a link to the missing RF stage that he made up - it's on TT somewhere.

Spencer, if you like you can copy it onto your web site so that there is a single point of reference and people don't have to go hunting for it.

Cheers

Any timer used for the action pistol sports will work. PACT, CED, etc.
Use the par time option and random start. So, if you set it for the 20 sec par time, you hit the button and it will beep after a few seconds for you to start, then it will beep at the 20 seconds stop.

I've got a CED. It has a mode that gives you a 3-second delay. Works for RF.
