To Coat Pellets or Not

I have read that some folks coat their pellets does it help and what would you recommend for use with a CO2 Pistol ?

I assume you're talking about lube on the pellets. The only guys that do it are field target guys because they are push very high velocities that can lead a barrel. For normal target shooting it won't do anything, except waste you time and lube.

Further to the post by Richard H:
1/ pellets in an unopened tin are usually untarnished
2/ pellets start to tarnish (surface oxidation) once the tin is opened
to avoid the problem of tarnishing, shoot lots of pellets...

And/or keep the tins well sealed, i.e. don't throw away the tape around the tins !

Spencer is right. I don't think there is as much oxidation problems with the modern pellets ( if stored in reasonable conditions). I remember seeing pellets that use to be just white with oxidation, I can't say that Iv'e seen this in the last 5 or so years.
