Anschutz Model Numbers

Post by marysdad »

I have an older (1968) Anschutz Match 64. It's not Savage-marked, just Anschutz. Everything I find on the Web (manuals, etc.) refers to 4-digit model numbers (1403, etc.). Where does my rifle fit in to the picture?

In the grand scheme of things, it is essentially the same action as the 1903. If my memory is correct, it has what is called a standard rifle stock that is more straight in the forearm area than the current 1903 that has a deeper "belly" just in front of the trigger assembly.

All said, you have a good starter rifle for smallbore prone / 3-position.

Thanks!

You're correct re the stock difference. The forestock is straight, with a full length rail.
