Sports Fan?
Does your wife follow any type of sport? Baseball, football, soccer?
If not, maybe she doesn't understand the entire concept of sport.
If she does following sports then I think you could find something to correlate your shooting with a sport she knows.

Alternates
I just tried a Bic lighter. It gave very little soot.
I then tried the rolled masking tape. It gave off a lot of soot. The problem with that is you better have a good, fireproof place to put the buring tape.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Thank you
I have looked at the Ray-Vin Smoker but I was hoping to get the Anschutz Black Match. It appears to be a much easier solution.
I see it being sold in Europe but don't see anyone in the US or Canada selling it.

FWB Model 2
I have the model 2 which I am very happy with.
You didn't say where you are located.
There is a person in California, USA who has many parts available for FWB CO2 pistols. I went to him when I lost a piece of my filling connection.

Great Shooting
I agree that it looks more like a 97. Now you know you can do it.

Interesting comments
During the last match I had 2 misfires and the sights didn't move when the trigger clicked.
I felt good about that.
So why does the gun recoil straight back sometimes and sometimes not?
Grip, wrist, elbow, shoulder?

Dryfire
Yes, I dry fire.
Also, in the last match I had 2 misfires (some old Eley Black). The sights didn't move. I felt good about that, no flinching or heeling.

Recoil
When shooting Free Pistol, if the gun recoils straight back, I know I have made a good shot. Sometimes it recoils left or right and I know the shot will be in that area of the target. My question is this. Is it different grip pressure or a loose wrist which causes the differences in the recoil? What...

New shoes
Champion's Choice (www.Champchoice.com) has just come out with a Pistol Shooter's shoe which is reasonably priced at $75.
I have only seen it in their new catalog so I can't comment on it for fit and comfort.
If anyone out there gets a pair, would you please evaluate it for the rest of us?

QuickSteel
I read on one of the Army Marksmanship pages that they use QuickSteel. It is a 2 part epoxy which starts hardening in about 15 minutes and completely cures overnight. I bought some at Walmart but it is available at other places including automotive stores. I used it on both my AP and FP grip. I like...

Remember, you will get more benefit by doing it for a few minutes 2 or 3 times every day than an hour 3 times a week.

Coaching
I agree that you need instruction at every level of a sport whether it is golf, tennis, shooting or anything else. The sooner you get good instruction the fewer bad habits you will have to break later on. I have just signed up with Silvino (Sil) Lyra. I have not had any instruction yet so I cannot s...

Correct
Both Joakim and Mike are correct. You first need to build your strength up then do a LOT of dry firing. When you first start, you should dry fire with a ratio of 3 to 1. In other words, practice dry fire 3 hours to every 1 hour you shoot live ammunition. The use of a blank target or wall is the best...
