Awards

From time to time the question of what to give for awards comes up. When I was a junior shooter back in the '70's it seemed the awards at most matches were these really neat medals from a company called V.H. Blackinton. We started holding some smallbore matches at our club last summer and I did some...

What trigger do you have? Is it one of the older Anschutz triggers? I ask this because it is hard to imagine not being able to get the current production (5018) trigger light enough. If you have an anschutz with one of the older triggers then you can upgrade it to the new type. The new style anschut...

From strictly a fit/shootability standpoint the standard "which ever one fits better" would apply. In our club we have about 6 people using fwb p70's. From my limited experience I have come to view the FWB p70 and anschutz 2002ca's (we have a few of those too) to be very reliable. Of cours...

Jay: I am sort of new at this fund raising stuff but last fall we did a gun raffle and it was a very easy way to raise funds. We raffled a Rem 700 and the winner got his pick of the rifle or $450. We sold 250 tickets at $5 each. It is not large scale but can be expanded. The tickets sold very easily.

There are two "best" Anschutz actions. One is the 54 and the other is the 20xx square action. Which of the two is best seems to depend who you talk to. Many people for one reason or another really don't like the 20xx action. Many top shooters use it with good success though. As far as whic...

Don: check out www.jarheadtop.com he sells a scope stand that is pretty neat. It is much like an offhand stand and seems very stable. A friend of mine has one and likes it pretty well. You might also call Pilkington's. They had some Ewing stands that were made to be more suited to smallbore shooters.

There are (were maybe) some anschutz trigger guards on ebay. Also look on Neal J's site. Seems there were some there too. I always do an "anschutz" search on ebay to see if there are any useful parts for sale.

Dave: With some digging you ought to be able to find a good used 1907 for just a little more than a 1903. The trouble with the 1903 is not so much the accuracy as the size. They are intended to be junior rifles. A side advantage of the 1907 is that it is a very close match to the ans. air rifles inc...

New action in old stock should work fine. I have done it with no trouble. Trigger guard and bedding screws need to be for the 1407 stock though. They have used various trigger guards over the years and the stock bolt lengths change for different stocks as well. If you need a 1407 trigger guard you s...
