Re: FWB 800 -- Travel Case Recommendations

+1 for the iM3200 from me, too. It strikes the right balance of length, and can fit cross-ways in the trunk of any sedan on the market. The airlines don't even give you a second glance about it being oversize. The only downside is that since it is so common, you definitely need to add some markings...

Yep - and going after an airline or shipping company to replace your rear or front sight prior to your next match, can be quite... unpleasant. YMMV.

Re: Rifle Transport and Sight Removal

I had someone ship me a rifle once - with the sights attached. It was of course, damaged beyond repair by the time it reached me. You can buy a small latching Lexan/plastic box, from Home Depot; they're made under the Husky label. I wrap both the front & rear sight in a small microfiber towel, p...

Wrench - I use the Centra "Track Max" 4mm offset risers front & rear on my FWB 2700 Alu; it has allowed me to mount many sight combinations on the rifle, both Anschutz & Tec-Hro. I use the plain-Jane, low end base Tec-Hro sight for smallbore. Hope this helps. -tc Is the 4mm track ...

Reya Kempley wrote about something similar in July: https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2017/5/4/pay-attention/ Former Olympic shooting coach Bill Pullum discusses the 'flow' concept at length in the USWIRO book "Schiesssportschule Dialogues Vol I. Your analyses seem similar to what they describe? I...

Re: Recommendations for FWB 2700 Light risers

I use the Centra risers, after buying a set from Tec-Hro. While I like many of Tec-Hro's products (their sights, their stocks, their handstops, their offhand stand), I'm not a fan of their risers - they are poorly measured, and/or machined. I sent the set I had back to them, they sent another pair t...

Champion Shooters Supply in Ohio used to have a decent selection of used equipment; you can also find great stuff on here (in the Sell/Buy Forum) from time to time.

Re: Spotting Scope Eyepiece Magnification Question

Don't get too hung up on where your bullets are landing. There is plenty of time to check that out after the 20th shot is downrange. The primary use of a spotting scope in outdoor smallbore is to aid in wind reading. The idea here is to back the focus off of the target so that you are seeing what t...

Re: 50-meter Men's Smallbore Prone

I am getting older and slower so I may be giving up participating in shooting matches that require a lot of movement with heavy equipment (ie: PRS, 3-gun, etc.). I am intrigued with the 50-meter Men's Smallbore Prone that is still part of the Summer Olympic Games. However, before I start buying the...

And the guy who finished 2nd in the 2015 NRA Any Sights Prone Championship was shooting a 24X Unertl. But it was atop an Anschutz 18xx action with a Lilja 4 groove barrel. Out x'd by Paul Nordquist. :( So I hear... lol. He's a crafty ol' Norwegian - slicker than lutefisk! His prowess with the older...

Re: 300m Free rifle

I think you can get a very good USA made rifle for use in 300 meter position shooting and other prone shooting for considerably less than the cost of the Europeon rifles. Longrifles in South Dakota makes custom rifles as shown in the link to their international rifles. I don't know what the cost of...

Re: Anschutz 54.30:a big improvement over the 2013 ?

One of the questions I have regarding the KK500 vs. the 54.30: How do you scope it for any sight competition?

I use an Anschutz ASR rail, and a Leopold Competition scope, on a Feinwerkbau 2700, and that was no small feat to line that up; Is it possible to accomplish this with the KK500?
