Shooting Glasses Lenses?

OK, I bought a Varga frame and thought I could get lenses easily. While I can find +.25D, +.5D, etc. lenses, I cannot find the cylindrical (astigmatism) lenses I swear I once saw. Does one simply (?) go to the optometrist and ask for a 23mm lens? I was thinking of using a pair of lenses -- one with ...

You can buy whole frames and custom lenses for less than just the clip-on lens at Zenni Optical . Simply pick the diopter plus between .5D and 1D (for most people) for the shooting eye far vision. You can leave the non-shooting eye diopter as in the prescription. The cost is so low (pick a cheap fra...

I think I have found a better solution. I use Lyman Bullet Lube stick to put some lubricant on the lead bullet. Once I started doing this, I never had another (so far, fingers crossed) failure-to-feed with my S&W Model 41 and cheap ammo from WallyWorld. CCI Standard Velocity has always been extr...

Dave Tubbs is reported to shoot his FWB far more than his high power guns. So far, I don't think there is a shortage of pellets (and, certainly not air). I also shoot high power. There does seem to be a severe shortage of bullets. For both that reason and to reduce costs, I have used some less expen...

Pre-aiming

I find that pre-aiming before the targets turn helps for me. At our club, I can see where the bull is -- roughly -- with the targets turned. Even if I could not, I can estimate its location in the frame. (I don't know if one can put a spotter on the frame edge to mark the center of the bullseye?) Ul...

For the price and quality, these are an incredible bargain IMHO. My only problem was that the cutout for the slide release was a bit shallow -- a file on the grip to deepen the cutout and some penetrating finish oil fixed that easily.

Blood Pressure? It may be that you have very low BP and/or positional (standing up after sitting) lowering of BP can cause dizziness.

Not sure about the legality, but I find that the cheapest foam knee pads from Home Depot and Lowes work well for me. The cheap foam absorbs "bounce" better than more expensive ones and the last thing you want is your elbow moving around. I tried gel pads and many other approaches, but the ...

Another technique is to paint the bullseye area with clear lacquer. Once dry, you will punch better holes. As others have noted, the best targets are Edelmann and Kruger. I also had problems with National and Cibil's (sp?) just like yours even with a more-powerful pistol.

Possible. Here are instructions. I would warn about trying for less than 500g or so, especially for a club gun.

I am told by an ex-Army man that the US Army did an experiment on the M16 (AR-15) to see what care is really needed. A Master shooter was given a gun, he requalified as Master with it. 20,000 shots were then fired through the gun without cleaning (maintenance? I suppose was allowed). The gun was the...

A far better place to look for information on FT is the AAFTA web site. The best value in FT is probably the USFT from Mac1 Airguns. Look at the primer on the AAFTA web pages (under Education) for more information.

I have both cardboard boxes of 50 and the plastic 100 boxes. As far as I can tell, both are identical. Perhaps in days of old, there were differences?

Also, all boxes carry the lot number. The small boxes have the lot number embossed in the back and it is sometimes difficult to read.

If you don't have enough room in the breech, cut a bit off the brass weight. It does not take much weight to pull the cord through the barrel.

You have the "law" (actually, regulations). The "practice" is that if one declares they have a gun (not airgun, not pellet gun, etc -- just a "gun") and the cylinder is attached and appears to be an integral part of the gun, then you can get through airline security and...

I had heard of spitting (and rinsing) to keep SCUBA masks fog-free, but peeing????? Not sure why that would even work since there is not much other than albumin in pee that might bind to glass/plastic I could think. Not likely to try this any time soon, either. Maybe, the way it works is: You pee in...

Any SCUBA or Ski store will have various no-fog solutions (or greases or cloths). It looks pretty funny, but the hat with a fan in the brim is another possibility but I would be worried about my eyes getting dry.

I am very please with my National Adjustable Target Stock for my S&W Model 41. They also make grips for the Ruger and other pistols. The price is very reasonable -- $78.
