You may be going blind
Froghunter, if you can't see the Air Rifle REQ 30, you may be having some problem with your eyesight. Bubba is right there at the bottom of this class and at the bottom of the Air Pistol 40. I enter under the name of my evil and inept twinn, Dan Hankins. Did I see your score on the board? I know it ...

Wide rign sight inserts
I got the clear front sight inserts from Mr. McDougall. He sent a standard 4.2 insert, and a thick ring 4.2. The first thing I noticed is that the quality of the Slimline front sight inserts is the same as the more expensive Anschutz front sight inserts, that I have. At half the price, I was imperss...

Front sight ring width
Ray,
Thanks for the information. I am one of those over 50 folks, and I'll bet not the only one that could benefit by the wider ring.
Thankd for the offer, you have mail.
Respectfully,
Dan Hankins

Front sight ring widht
I have been having a little trouble seeing the front sight ring with the Anschutz 18mm clear fornt sights. I am using a 4.3 sight. I see that Neal Johnson offers some glass front sight inserts with a selection of ring widht. There is also another sight insert that has .1mm up to 4.1 then 4.3 and up ...

FWB sight inserts
John, If your FWB has a 22 mm front sight, I have no idea where you can buy a post type insert for it. I have looked far and wide for one and I can't find one either. If your FWB has the 18 mm front sight, I think the Anschutz inserts will fit. I think that a person could make a post front sight for...

Good news from the "Test Kitchen"
Helen, Glad to know that the pellet cleaning was a success. I don't know much about the .22 cartridges, but I'd try a hand full just to see if it works. Thanks for the follow up. Next time I have an Oxidation (read Patina) problem with pellets, I'll try the Coke instead of the vinegar. May I suggest...

Things go better with Cocoa-Cola?
Well, Helen, on Tuesday, you said you were going to try the Coke. It is now Friday, and we don't know how it worked for you. Bet that Coke is flat now. If they do not clean up, perhaps you could sell them to one of those antique folks that just love "patina". Always saying to leave the &qu...

K-60 sights and dry fire
Knotdoc. JV pretty well covered the questions you have. I had a C-20 short version, and the oldet IZH-46. I can't remember if the C-20 had a rear sight that was adjustable for depth by moving a plate up or down or not. Certainly the sight could be altered as JV suggested for the Pardini. The K-60 si...

Vinegar not working
Well, Helen, it worked for me. May be that the pellets I was working with were a different alloy of lead. Or the Vinegar I used was different. I don't have an answere for that. I do apologize for the time and effort that i caused you to use, and the poor results. I assure you that I had no intent to...

Pardini K-60
I just traded for my second Pardini K-60. If I had known better, I would not have sold the first one. Pilkington has some of these K-60s that have been rebuilt and are ready to shoot. I prefer mine with the Nygord Turbo comp, and was lucky enough to get one that had the Turbo comp on it. These older...

Cutting foam
I have had very good results cutting foam of all densities with an electric carving knife. The two bladed ones with serriated blades cut very cleanly, and you can still use it to cut meats and fowl.

Air Rifle REQ 30
The air rifle REQ-30 class is the perfect place to use those old rifles for competition. Although I own a FWB P-70, I find myself facinated with an RWS 75S TO1. I know that there are more people that read this forum that have FWB 300s and RWS 75s and Walthers and so on. Here is a chance to use them ...

Dangerous vinegar
Gary, If you read the suggestion that I made for cleaning pellets in vinegar, you would find that you do not need to touch the pellets. The only time you need to touch them is after they have been rinsed and dried and a light lubricant applied. I have cleaned a few pellets in the manner suggested an...

Vinegar will work
You can pour a tin of the oxidized pellets in a container such as a quart sized jar, and add the cheapest vinegar that you can get. Be sure the pellets are covered with the vinegar. Swish them around, and let them sit for a while. check back and swish some more, and examin pellets. Soon as they are ...

Blimping
I fear that the cost of the targets, the UNMANNED RADIO CONTROLED blimps/air ships might be a little high at $23,000 each. Of course there was ONLY thought ot be $10,000 in damage from the one shooter, but what if he had been a REAL good shot. The two Bobs do have a start on some of the rules for th...

Good picture
You have captured a good image of the Wizzard at work. The gentleman holding the pistol is probably not as short as the picture indicates, as Seaton is a Very Tall Leprechan/Wizzard, or what ever. Looks like the gentleman having the grip fitted is so excited that he is playing "Pocket Pool"...

Well said
Brother Pilkington, Your epistol is well recieved and a beacon of reason on a subject often blown plumb out of proportion. As you and your gang of Tenessee bandits know, I have had a bunch of 10 m target pistols, and, based on my own research and record keeping, I am in 100% agreement with you. othe...

Seaton Thomas (Gripman)
it was my pleasure to have the Seaton Thomas spend a few days as a guest at my house in the Ozarks. We had communicated on forums and by e-mail for some time, and in his travels he was going to be near my area. The guy is kinda a magical character. While he was here he was kind enough to do a little...

Keeping the Grand kids safe
Here in the beautiful Ozarks (southwest MO.) we have tornados. The idea of keeping the grand kids in a safe in the closet is a very good one, for those who don't have basements. I am a little slow on the April fools thing. Busy now trying to hide my own Easter Eggs so that I can find them. Used thos...

Thanks for the advise
Pat, You set off in the right direction. The RWX 75S TO-1 has an adjustable cheek piece. I measured the demintions of my P-70, measuring the relationship of the sight line to the cheep piece placement. The FWB seems to fit fine. So, I figgured that I could save some time by attemping to duplicate th...
