I purchased an unfinished Boyds Tactical stock with a heavy barrel channel.
Out of the box it fit pretty well. I had to mount an accessory rail and so had to monkey around with routing a channel for it in the stock.

Bedding - Savage MK 2 & Boyds unfinished Stock

Hello... I'm replacing the stock on a Savage MK II with a Boyds unfinished stock. Any thoughts on bedding? The original Savage stock looks like it is free-bedded (not resting on the stock, but elevated slightly to appear to float). Should I adapt the unfinished stock to attempt to replicate (thinkin...

Appreciate it.

Thanks for the response.

I shoot 2 / week and have done so for the past 3 months. Prior to my hiatus, I shot competitively for 6 years or so. The ammo I shoot matches with is Lapua Center X or Midas. So, I feel like I've got basics covered and need finesse on the MOA adjustments.

Cheers...

Worked it out (during a match...) last week. Adjusting the zippers (all the way down, as recommended) and hiking up the pants (a PITA as we sometimes shoot on a raised bench vs. the floor; have got to climb up and then sort of tug your drawers up...) did help get me back to the 3pm position (right l...

thanks

Thanks to both of you. I'll try the different configs you describe. I think it's pretty clear that the right knee is not out wide enough, like it was in plain old jeans.

Kneeling help

Hello... I've rekindled my shooting passion after a 22 year hiatus. I'm really happy with my results and have been shooting in any competition that I can get to. My positions have typically been sound. In kneeling, before what I outline below, I would shoot an average of 96 (out of 100). Over the pa...
