Re: Info on Izhmash biathlon rifle models
7-2 is the basic rifle not set up for biathlon with covered sights or magazines holders built into the stock. It has a single stage trigger. The only difference that I can tell between a 7-3 and a 7-4 is the stock. The stock on the 7-3 has a shorter LOP than the 7-4. The trigger(2 stage), barrel and...

Re: Anschutz laser power Ii rifle
Our club has 7 of the Ecoaims from Finland. They work great and provide a lot more feedback on shot placement. The small hand held display tells you where you hit an can track your barrel movement similar to a SCATT. I have yet to hook it up to a computer to see what additional information can be ob...

Do you have the ability to bolt a vice down to the table you are shooting off of? If you do, you might want to consider getting one of these when you test ammo. https://lostnationrd.com/product/bedding-block/ I have a Cowan Rest that I modified to bolt the hand sling onto it that I can do adjustment...

My pleasure!
Some clubs and masters have a loaner rifle that they might lend out for for newcomers to the races. You may want to reach out to those groups to let your wife try before she buys. Unfortunately the majority of people are RH.

Re: Anschutz 1827f left handed
Interesting, I wonder if they are not going to import the rifle because it's still on the Anschutz Germany site. It only lists the LH Junior model as being discontinued. You could also purchase just the LH action and buy an aftermarket stock. If your wife is 5'5" and shorter, the ergonomics don...

Where did you see it on their website that they were discontinuing the LH rifle? It' still listed on their website here: https://www.anschuetz-sport.com/en/produkte/1827-f-biathlon-kleinkaliber-gewehr/1827-f-comfort/ It looks like the Left Handed Junior model is going to be discontinued, not the adu...

How about something like this? It looks similar to SCATT. It says that it can be used for dry fire exercises.

We've started plenty of people on the Savage MKII FVT. It has peep sights and comes with a 5 shot magazine.

Every now and then, Clayton at Eastern Sierra Armory has a biathlon rifle stock for sale that is inletted for the Savage.

So I've come across this rifle. How does this compare and is this something that I can drop into an ESA stock? Is this a good price? I've seen some similar at three times this price. http://www.cdnnsports.com/izhmash-biathlon-bi72ko-22lr-target-rifle.html#.VhqgZflVikp It won't drop in per say. You ...

Re: Izh 7-4 diopter
Surely one of the first things you do with any new gun (after cleaning) is fire a few shots, put on a "handful" of clicks, then fire a few more shots to see which way (and how much) the group has moved. It's not rocket science. I know, but there is something wrong with the gun right now, ...

Re: cheap biathlon alternative....
I seem to remember the Russians making a fairly cheap Biathlon trainer, with a toggle bolt. I seem to remember European American Armory (EAA) importing it. Those would be the Izhmash 7-2, 7-3 and 7-4. The company currently importing them was able to get some 7-2s and they list on GB for around $100...

G3R stock from Eastern Sierra Armory
I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a pre-production G3R stock from Eastern Sierra Armory to replace a stock that one of my Juniors broke at a race last year. I'm thoroughly impressed with their latest version. I normally can not shoot standing very well with my right because of my cross d...

The Anschutz and Izhmash rear biathlon sights move 2.5mm (a little under 1/10 of an inch) at 50meters. I am using these sights on some of my refurbished rifles for my Juniors. They work well enough for the ones not carrying rifles and leaving them on the rack. But since they are lacking snow covers,...
