Apparently the 22 LR isn't that much harder to shoot in RF than a lot of people originally anticipated. Steve Well, I consider 590 and 596/597 (old record) is a very big difference. Project these scores at 50 m rifle prone. The 597 is probably qaulification for final and 590 is like 30-40th place a...

Reaction time + trigger time + fire control lock time + pellet dwell time In other words, from the moment the shot is a "GO" until it leaves the muzzle. IPSC split times of 150ms is a new one on me- what's the current world record (Ed McGivern?) for 6 shots from horn to last shot? I think...

Guest: Ummm . . . . not really. This has been hashed out many times in this group. Fundamentally, mechanical lock time is 1) somewhat irrelevant to the whole shooting process; and even if it were, 2) too small be of any consequence irregardless. The proper shot process and timing of the release of ...

I looked at one of those and did some dryfiring with it at the Swedish National Championchips a few weeks ago. However it was absolutly forbidden to testshoot and the reason we were told by the swedish agent was because the pistol had no CIP-approval (or something like that) However, the pistol gave...

IMO, it is not possible to compare GSP and OSP on the same day ;-) The differences in grip geometry and height of barrel above the hand is very significant.

IMO, a rebuilt OSP to .22 LR (standard pistol specs) is a far better pistol for RF than GSP is.

Re: OSP/GSP CONVERSION (long post)

You do not have to do everything that I did. Check that .22LR magazines fit your pistol (some do not). All you need is; 1. A stock .22LR barrel, .22LR magazines and a 1000g trigger from Walther. 2. The .32 caliber cocking handles (make them smaller so that they are not so heavy, or machine them lik...

[aborting shots is a sort of rescue plan, not a goal itself. quote] Pär Hylander I think you are conveying that it is a negative to abort a shot. Surely aborting is the positive thing to do if you are unsure and have negative premonitions of it outcome. [/quote] No, thats not the way i meant, I´m s...

It figures that the two Swedes would agree!! Just kidding guys. tack själv and fåravel F. Paul in Denver haha ;-) Well, of course even I, a 100% RFP-guy, agree that if a shot it going wrong, it is correct to abort if that possibility is availible (in a 4-sec series it is not... ;-)) However, my poi...

I really seems like the sightradius is nonconforming.... No german style equipment control in the US obviusly ;-) I cannot believe that equipment control at a world cup wouldn't have picked this up. All guns are tested in a gun box for dimensions and if what you are saying is correct then the gun w...

Yepps!

3. Probably only if newer style light slide/bolt (which is the correct name of it?).
6. Perhaps only a harder spring behind the trigger will do it

As I see it, aborting shots is absolutely nothing to strive for. If you have to abort a shot, then the preparations bofore the shot was not good enough.

Never assume anything... It will make an ass out of u and me :-) It´s not possible to move the rear sight forward without raising it above frame, (not more than a few mm´s anyway) With the rear sight in it´s normal position, the barrel shroud would have to be shortened to ~37 mm for the sight radiu...

My guess is that it slipped through equipment check... If there is a world record, there is probably an equipment control after the match also. I do not think that a nonconforming obvious detail like that would slip through two separate EC and the watching eyes of coaches and leaders from competing...

Are we talking about Newtons classical physics or statitics? ;-) With a scientific point of view you might be totally correct, but I think that a more pragmatic and usefull way is to just accept things that improve your performance without trying to analyse why in every small detail. Not seldom, the...

An interesting thing to consider is the position that great equipment is a NECESSARY but not SUFFICIENT condition for shooting well. You *must* buy "match grade" equipment for training and performance improvement- but once you have match grade equipment, FORGET ABOUT IT! Not to be too obt...

Re: Reliably Repeating Peak Performance

How can we improve the likelihood that our "best" (for any given day) will be reliably set at a high level? How do we improve our "potential ceiling" while simultaneously raising the floor? Being used to win and/or perform premium scores helps,.... a lot! I think it is the progr...
