I train (air) at 10M and my turning target only has second intervals. I practice the first shot release in the 4 sec string as 1 sec facing. This is OK for me but I suspect I may take a fraction longer in the actual series. Since I only shoot air I don't know how much recoil would make things worse...

Bisley range complex - UK
BTW, Its 13 years since I was at Bisley for the Nordic Champs, is the range complex still as big and impressive, or is it partly abandond since your strict handgun laws come? Some pretty big changes since those Nordics (which were the last ones I shot in). You may remember that to the left hand sid...

[ My 8 sec string starts with approximately 2.5 secs on the first target, on the 6 sec string it's more like 1.6 - 1.8. On the 4 sec string it drops to about 1 sec. If we are measuring time the same way, then you are lightning fast.... :-) I think the most used way is to start the timing device whe...

I have seen the (partly) bent torso techique at some competions i Europe used with succes. However, I think that it is a difficult technique to master because I thinkt it os difficult to only have the bending movement. Very easily you will also have a small rotatring movement in the torso which resu...

. The only point I'm trying to make is that a gun adjusted to shoot heavy and light pellets at the same speed will have approx 12% less felt movement/recoil with the lights. I'm not saying anything about accuracy. Anyone agree? or are we not trying to look for any more technical advances, eg portin...

And I use mine for flintlock pistol too. Thanks Kent, I now have coffee all over my keyboard ;-) Out of interest, does the lock mechanism operating have much affect on the trace speed and direction. :-)) Does the Scatt trigger the same way as the Noptel, via vibration sensing? If so, the slow "...

If aim under the black cicle is used, then the point of impact will be rather sensitive to differences in the amount of tilt of the pistol around the axle of the arm. If aim in the centre, it is much less sensitive. I also thinkt that the gain of less arm movement the using the low aim is almost onl...

Actually, I think the falling plate approach was a better idea all the way around. Classical RF takes a relatively long time to score, while the falling plate system makes scoring very quick. More audience appeal, too. From a perspective of spectators and intrest from media a fully agree. It is pro...

Re: 10 meter rapid fire AP
There are several "home grown" events araound but none are sanctioned by the ISSF. At The British Pistol Club we use the following:- 60 competition shots fired in two half courses with each half course as follows:- 1 sighting series in 10 seconds 2 series in 10 seconds 2 series in 8 secon...
