Re: The future of shooting jackets/pants after the olympics ?

Thanks for replying. What future change are you referring to? Idk. I meant the rumors/suggestions about changing the colors/design of the pants and jackets and the possibility of excluding the suit completely. If you are expecting significant changes, wait. No sense spending money on kit that is abo...

The future of shooting jackets/pants after the olympics ?

Hey guys ..

I’m curious to know what you guys think about expected new changes to rifle shooting rules after the olympics .. especially regarding shooting jackets and pants?
Do you recommend me ordering a new suit or waiting?

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions .

Is there something specific I need to point out to my optician to make him understand the difference between regular lenses and shooting lenses?

Unclear front sight picture

Hello , I've been noticing lately that my front sight picture is MUCH clearer/sharper when I close my non-shooting eye. despite having a translucent blinder on my rear sight. I cannot however, close my non-shooting eye for long periods of time. Any suggestions as to how I can get that same sharp ima...

Re: Walther cheek piece / butt-plate weight

Been discussed before. Self adhesive weights don't use tape so are allowed. They must be fitted within the shape of the stock eg between stock and cheek piece or between butt pad and stock. Not stuck to side of stock. AFAIK this is legal if not elegant Screen Shot 2017-07-15 at 23.04.03.jpg Screen ...

Re: Walther cheek piece / butt-plate weight

TenMetrePeter
Thank you for the reply.

Is it permitted to add self adhesive weights on the rifle?
I've read somewhere in the forum that the new ISSF rule does not allow using tape on the rifle. I'm not sure if it includes self adhesive weights as well.

Walther cheek piece / butt-plate weight

Hello ,

I would like to know what attachments would allow me to add 100g on my Walthers cheek piece and/or butt-plate.
I've seen some shooters add a rod to the cheek piece with weights on it; I couldn't figure out what accessories they added to achieve that.

Any help is appreciated.

New ISSF Fore-end rule

Hello , I need help understanding the new ISSF fore-end rules : 7.4.2.5 The lowest point of the fore-end may not be more than 120 mm below the center-line of the bore. 7.4.2.6 Material that gives increased grip may not be added to the foreend, pistol grip or lower part of the stock. Does this mean t...

High NPA in standing

Hi guys, I've been struggling with a high NPA in standing for a while , the butt plate is set to the lowest point , I no longer use riser blocks & I feel that my position is really stable when I first hold my rifle.. but in order to lower the rifle I have to breathe in and out many times to reac...

Hi Charlie, Do you shoot with a fist grip or an open palm ? I used to have the same problem. I shoot with an open palm & the FWB 700 is actually muzzle heavy which often made my aiming go lower. I posted a subject about that just before getting a walther & the members were very helpful : htt...

With two stage and taking the first stage as you arrive on the aiming mark with a less solid position such as standing I found there could be a tendancy in some cases to inadvertantly very slightly release the first stage whilst refining the aim, then when you go to take the shot you have to retake...

Most shooters at my club (with the average of 96+) have their trigger weight set between 70 & 90 gr. If you have a good trigger pull technique with a good stability then a light trigger is better, you might notice some 9's turn into 10's just by doing that. A heavy trigger needs slightly more ti...

I have one more question, please bear with me.
Whats the difference between Walthers Alutec version & Anatomic version?

I've read somewhere in the forum about the weight distribution: The Alu is front heavy whereas the Anatomic feels lighter?

WesternGrizzly Thanks for the suggestion. My coach replaced the original Buttplate with a heavier one a while back to balance the rifle, but my rifle weighs around 10.5lbs which is too heavy for me. WarWagon Thanks for the review. I'll put the LG300 in mind, I've also read about the LG400 but I'm no...

A rifle suitable for shooting with an open palm

Hey shooters, I've been shooting with a FWB 700 Alu for a while now. I also shoot with an open palm which suits me very well. The problem is that the 700 alu has a heavy front which doesn't feel comfortable, although it was an advantage to have a heavy rifle when I first started shooting cause it wa...

You should be as relaxed as possible. Should your cheek pressure on the stock be heavy or light. Pressure means that your rifle will eventually move downwards, sometimes you might even lean to the right while aiming - if your a right hand shooter. Also should your handgrip be light or firm For me a ...

Jenni, What else have you considered in trying to eliminate the eights? If you only have one or two eights in a training session, why was your decision to make an aperture change? Well, I've always had a "Double vision" problem which increases when I aim on the target for longer than 3-4 ...

You might try your old aperture for standing, and a "slightly smaller one for prone and kneeling, but it will probably take at least 500 rounds to be sure you are miking any difference. When in doubt, err to the larger size. Pat McCoy Thanks for the reply. I kind of like the new aperture cause...
